Jetta VA7 will be officially launched on January 12, 2025. As an important new model of the Jetta brand in the Chinese market, the launch of VA7 has attracted a lot of attention.
The exterior design of the Jetta VA7 is highly similar to the Volkswagen Sagitar, but its details have been carefully adjusted to increase recognition. For example, the front of the car is equipped with the iconic lattice grille and "Y"-shaped silver decoration, giving the vehicle a unique visual effect. At the rear of the car, Jetta VA7 uses a hidden exhaust system, and the words "JETTA" and "VA7" are prominently marked to highlight its brand identity.
The side lines continue Volkswagen's family style, with the waistline rising back from the front fenders, creating a dynamic and layered visual effect. In addition, the "first come, first served" version of the car is equipped with 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels and 205/55 R17 tires. It comes standard with high-end configurations such as LED headlights and an openable panoramic sunroof, and is available in five paint colors. Options include the distinctive “crocodile green” and “monkey gold”.
Entering the car, the interior of Jetta VA7 still continues Volkswagen's usual concise style. Although the 8-inch full LCD instrument panel and 10.1-inch central control screen have good display effects, the intelligent configuration is slightly conservative, mainly supporting basic functions such as Bluetooth and mobile phone interconnection. Considering that in-vehicle technology has become an important reference factor for consumers to choose cars, the lack of intelligent and technological configuration of Jetta VA7's interior may affect its attractiveness in the competition at the same price.
In terms of power system, Jetta VA7 is equipped with a 1.4T turbocharged engine, matched with a 7-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox, with a maximum power of 110 kilowatts, a peak torque of 250 Nm, and a comprehensive fuel consumption of only 5.87 liters per 100 kilometers. With the discontinuation of the Volkswagen Sagitar 1.4T model, the launch of Jetta VA7 may meet the market demand for this type of power.
In terms of configuration, Jetta VA7 provides some basic home functions, such as panoramic sunroof, reversing image, cruise control, wireless charging and front seat heating. These configurations can meet the needs of most consumers in daily use, but compared with other competitors at the same price, Jetta VA7's intelligent configuration is slightly insufficient. For example, many models of the same price are already equipped with more advanced driving assistance systems and higher-level in-car entertainment systems, which may weaken the appeal of Jetta VA7 in this regard.
