Nissan unveiled the facelifted version of the Sylphy sedan. The current fourth-gen Nissan Sylphy was introduced in 2019, with the E-Power hybrid version following in 2021. The facelift is instantly recognizable, as the exterior updates are limited, but enough to give it a fresh lease on the new car market for a couple more years.
The grille is slightly larger and features a different pattern for each of the powertrain variants. It is combined with slimmer bumper intakes and more modern graphics for the headlights. The profile is carried over with the exception of the 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels, while the tail got a sportier bumper with decorative inlets. Nissan is also offering a number of optional accessories including aerodynamic extensions for the bumpers and side sills, a rear spoiler, and an illuminated emblem at the front.
Moving inside, the dashboard retains a familiar look but the infotainment has been upgraded with a larger 12.3-inch high-definition retina touchscreen featuring a number of touch-sensitive shortcuts on its base. Still, the analog instrument cluster is carried over, as with the climate controls and the multifunction three-spoke steering wheel. Finally, the model benefits from an extended ADAS suite giving it Level 2 autonomous capabilities.
Base models come fitted with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol producing 137 hp (102 kW / 139 PS) and 159 Nm (117 lb-ft) of torque, sending power to the front axle exclusively through a CVT transmission. The more efficient E-Power self-charging hybrid powertrain gets a naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter engine that works as a generator for the lithium-ion battery and the electric motor. The latter produces 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque, again moving the front wheels.
